Residents of Kyiv were invited to join a large-scale clean-up campaign in Holosiivskyi National Nature Park, one of the largest natural areas located within a major European city. Organized by the animal welfare organization UAnimals, the initiative marked the third anniversary of its volunteer community and focused on restoring one of the park’s most littered areas.

Holosiivskyi National Park is home to more than 70 rare species of plants and animals, many of which are threatened by pollution and human activities. Volunteers planned to remove waste accumulated along roadsides and deep within the forest, where litter has been affecting the ecosystem for years.

The organizers provided transportation, equipment, and drinking water for participants, emphasizing that community clean-up actions are an important way to protect biodiversity and preserve urban natural spaces. The initiative also highlights the growing role of environmental volunteering and civic engagement in promoting sustainable ecosystems and responsible waste management in Ukraine
